Mark Your Calendar: Triple Payment Day November 26

The Canada Revenue Agency has officially confirmed November 26, 2025 as a triple payment day when CPP, OAS, and GIS will all be deposited on the same date Thompson Settlement. This combined pay-out offers essential support for older Canadians who rely on federal benefits.

Here’s what to expect in your account on November 26:

  • CPP: Maximum monthly benefit approximately $1,433 (based on contribution history)
  • OAS: $808 for seniors aged 65-74; $814 for those 75+
  • GIS: Up to $1,097 for qualifying low-income seniors

Not everyone receives all three benefits—only those eligible for each program will see the full triple payment. This is not a bonus or extra payment—it’s all scheduled benefits landing on the same date Thompson Settlement.

New Federal Anti-Fraud Strategy Announced

Budget 2025 will introduce Canada’s first-ever whole-of-government National Anti-Fraud Strategy, requiring banks to have policies to prevent and address fraud while giving consumers more control over their bank accounts Canada.ca. This comes after $638 million was lost to scams in 2024, though officials believe only 5-10% of scams are actually reported Immigrant-education.

Scam Alert: Fake “Extra Payment” Websites Targeting Seniors

A scam aimed at seniors is claiming the Canada Revenue Agency is sending extra payments to low income seniors, with websites containing false information and links to join Telegram or WhatsApp instant messaging groups Canada.ca.

Remember these CRA truths:

  • The CRA will not use text messages or instant messaging such as Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp Canada.ca
  • The CRA does NOT issue refunds through Interac e-Transfers
  • The CRA will NEVER ask for payment via gift cards, cryptocurrency, or e-Transfer
  • Only refer to official Government of Canada web pages for benefit information

Fraudsters are pulling out all the stops this tax season, and the best defence is awareness Immigrant-education. If something feels off, it probably is. Hang up, delete the message, and contact the real CRA directly if you have questions.
