I’m a little late with this one today. I did a shift at the warehouse in Debert last night and realized too late, I’d left my laptop charger sitting on the kitchen table! Marilyn says it was a “senior moment,” but I’m blaming it on the late shift. As we hit the mid-point of April, scammers are working overtime to catch us off guard during tax season. Please keep an eye out for these active threats:

The “Milk Settlement” Text: This one is hitting hard in the Maritimes (902 area codes). You might get a text claiming you’re eligible for a “Milk Class Action Settlement” payout. It is a phishing scam. They want your bank login. Delete it immediately.

Urgent CRA “Account Suspension” Alerts: With the tax deadline approaching, scammers are sending texts claiming your CRA MyAccount has been “suspended.” They provide a fake login link. Remember: The CRA will never send you a link to log in or ask for payment via e-transfer or gift cards.
