Hot v Cold
Hi my Canadian friends. I see on the world news it remains chilly and wintry up there.
Meanwhile down here in Perth, Western Australia, we continue to experience extreme heat and humidity.
Yesterday 36c, and at 11 am this morning, it's already 36c. With our ongoing build up of heat, hot enough to BBQ on the pavement.
And with the next two days being forecast as 34c+, we would welcome some of your chilly weather.

Always interesting to hear about the extreme differences between our two parts of the hemisphere, although much more extreme during your summer and our winter then the opposite one. We're hearing about bushfires caused by lightning strikes in various parts of Australia. Sounds like a repeat of what happened last summer in both US and Canada.
The good news is things are warming up here in Nova Scotia. Now above freezing most days and some nights. The bad news is the heavy rains experienced this week which combined with the remaining snow melt cause widespread flooding in many areas. Turned our local Sobey's parking lot into a small lake yesterday.
You don't need small lakes being created where people reside.
Over in Queensland and up in our Northern Territory incredible amounts of rain during the past weeks have similarly flooded towns, roads and infrastructure. Many towns and communities remain isolated.
And just announced on our news a massive cyclone is heading for the north east region of Queensland. That might be cyclone number six for them in 2026.
Our overland rail upon which Western Australia relies heavily for food and other critical supplies has twice eensuspended in 2026 due to unusually heavy rains destroying rail track on the eastern Nullarbor Plain.

We're definitely in the era of weather disasters.
There is absolutely no denying that Bill. And amongst all the Middle East nightmare and chaos trump and even many in our government want to boost oil exploration and production.
Meanwhile we are experiencing our 3rd day in a row of 36c+ temperature, plus punishing humidity.
