And somewhere—perhaps right now—there are people who want to know your story.

Your grandchildren wonder what life was like when you were young. Your children have questions about family history they’ve never asked. Future generations will want to know where they came from, what shaped their family, who you really were beyond the facts and dates.

This course exists to help you preserve those stories before they’re lost.

What This Course Is (And Isn’t)

This isn’t about writing a bestselling memoir or producing a perfectly polished manuscript. You’re not trying to impress literary critics or prove you had an interesting life.

This is about capturing your memories, your experiences, and your wisdom in a way that’s meaningful to the people who matter most—your family.

Over the next 10 modules, you’ll work through your life chronologically, from your earliest memories to the present day. Each module focuses on a specific period or theme, with prompts and questions designed to help you remember details you might have forgotten and organize your thoughts into coherent stories.

How It Works

Each module includes:

Just yourself and a willingness to remember. You don’t need to be a good writer. You don’t need perfect grammar. You just need to be honest and willing to put your memories into words.

Whether you write by hand, type on a computer, or dictate into a recording device, the method doesn’t matter. What matters is that you start.
